Woolworths launches animated kids range
Woolworths will launch an exclusive range of ÔÇÿJungle Beat’ children’s clothing and accessories in December 2009. Based on the internationally acclaimed, South African-produced animated series of the same name, it is targeted at the 2-6 year-old range.
The characters have wide appeal. As Phil Cunningham, ÔÇÿJungle Beat’ producer says, ÔÇ£Animation has the power to cross race, age and cultural barriers better than any other medium. Animation is an amazing tool for us to paint with and we are really excited to be partnering with a high quality retailer like Woolworths to launch our ÔÇÿclothing with character’.ÔÇØ
Having aired in over 100 countries and been featured on some 13 airlines, the series of short animations is already a hit around the globe and is screening on SAA flights. A deal is in place with MNet for it to be shown on television, and it will soon be shown before family feature films in Nu Metro cinemas exclusively. Nu Metro will release the DVD in South Africa this month.
