Starbucks launched it’s first South African store in Rosebank, Johannesburg and had people queuing to buy the famous Coffee.

“We always had a feeling that South Africans would take Starbucks to their heart but we were all floored at the scale of the welcome we received in Johannesbug” says Taste Holdings CEO, Carlo Gonzaga.

Mall of Africa was the second hit and the CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz made an appearance. The thirs store opened in Menlyn Maine in Pretoria before tuning one on 19 April 2017 and opened their forth store in Menlyn Park, Pretoria.

“Over the last year, the brand has seen a rise in its artisanal, small-batch Reserve coffee with its proprietary coffee machine, the Clover, receiving the most interest,” says Gonzaga.

All South Africans love loyalty reward cards!

Starbucks South Africa launched their loyalty programme in February 2017. They also offer a payment option through an app! This has assisted the growth of customer loyalty as the system makes it is so simple to earn rewards, quickly.
