Scooters Pizza Franchise Voted Best Pizza Place
Scooters Pizza Empangeni has recently been voted as the Best Pizza Place in The Readers’ Choice Awards*, claiming the title for a second consecutive year. Erika van der Linde, franchisee of the award winning store, expands on her gratifying venture.
Since becoming the franchisee of the Scooters Pizza Empangeni store in July 2009, van der Linde has attributed her success to a commitment to customer service, constant store involvement, staff motivation, high-quality meal offerings and an inviting store atmosphere.
When asked about her managerial strategies, keeping her customers and staff satisfied are a principal priority. “Our customers are the components that keep our store flourishing, therefore it is crucial to respect the promises we make.
“My staff is just as important as they are the first point of contact that customers have. Motivating them through staff of the month initiatives, celebrating their birthdays loudly and simply showing them gratitude has assisted me with motivating them to do their jobs to the best of their ability.”
Van der Linde values the relationships she has built with the community and on a regular basis shows support where possible, “We work hard at where aid is needed. We have sponsored meals for local vulnerable children and for the individuals in prison, and have helped at monthly flea-markets to collect money for a children’s home.”
Christo Calitz, CEO of Taste Holdings Food Division, is delighted with the Scooters Pizza Empangeni store’s result and encourages other franchisees to strive towards reaching their potential.
“It can be noted that the Scooters Pizza and Maxi’s stores in Empangeni, both brand subsidiaries of Taste Holdings, are setting their goals and exceeding expectations as Maxi’s was also awarded the Best Restaurant award. We fully support and appreciate their hard work, dedication and attainments,” concludes Calitz.
