Popular International Ice-Cream Brand to Open in South Africa this Month
On the 9th of December, Baskin-Robbins, the largest international ice-cream franchise, will open their very first store in South Africa.
Known for having 31 flavours – one for every day of the month, Baskin-Robbins is setting its flagship store in Canal Walk, Cape Town and will open at 11am.
Grand Parade Investments has brought the well-known brand in following Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts – also launched in Cape Town. “We love Cape Town; it’s our home ground,” says Grand Parade’s Marketing and Communications Executive.
The delicious ice-cream brand is set to adapt some of their flavours to South African taste buds. Their popular flavours include; Pralines ‘n Cream, Very Berry Strawberry and Chocolate Overload (with no added sugar), there are also flavours such as Green Tea, Earl Grey and Cookies, Mango Tango, Citrus Twist (a non-dairy option), Jamoca Almond Fudge and Love Potion #31. New flavours will come in and be swopped out regularly. Milkshakes and ice-cream cakes are also available.
By the end of 2016, two more stores will open in Cape Town and by mid-2017 there will be a total of six before they move on into Gauteng.
