When it comes to commitment, the family favourite, Maxi’s has been known for its dedication to providing the highest quality meals and the best customer satisfaction in town. The chain of nationwide food franchises understands that in order for Maxi’s to be top of the consumer’s mind that its franchisee also needs to be top of the franchisor’s mind.

Maxi’s “High 5 Success” campaign ran over a period of ten months, and challenged each franchisee and their teams to deliver the best operational and customer service results. In order to come out tops, each franchisee needed to excel in the following aspects: store assessments (including hygiene, front and back house operations, food quality and service); mystery shoppers who visited the restaurants and evaluated the service and quality received; waitron evaluations; management and advertising royalty; local store marketing; health inspections; as well as meeting and training attendance.

Franchisees were fiercely contending to be named the number one store in their region as well as the best in the country to win amazing prizes ranging from overseas holidays to cash incentives.

Adri and Johan Potgieter, the proud owners of Maxi’s Mokopane’s sterling efforts were awarded as they not only walked away as the regional winners but also as the overall campaign winners! The Potgieters opened their restaurant in November 2009 and since then, have won the prestigious title of Best Maxi’s in South Africa for three years.

“If you want to be seen as the leader in your field of expertise, you not only need to deliver great service and great food, but you also need to continuously WOW your customers. Your brand’s name needs to be on everyone’s lips – and that literally includes everyone from your customers to your competitors! I believe that Maxi’s Mokopane lives the brand promise: ‘It’s more than just a meal, it’s a food experience’!” states Adri.

She adds that Maxi’s Mokopane’s success is not only as a result of hands-on management but her entire team’s commitment and sterling efforts.

“To show our own appreciation for our top performers’ hard work and dedication, our best employee will be shipped off on a cruise from Durban to Cape Town and our best preforming management member will be jetting off to Rio de Janeiro!” continues Adri.

In previous years, the Potgieters sent their top management performers to Zanzibar and France, and their waiters to Sun City as part of an all-expenses paid holiday.

According to Johan it was their vision that drove them to the top. “Discipline, pride in the brand and our commitment to constantly reach new heights is what makes our team shine. Every member commits themselves 100% towards our vision and this is what sets us apart from the rest. Our vision is simple – to rise and be champions once again.”
