As a result of the range that is to be accommodated under the brand to facilitate a destination appeal to a customer, the minimum size of the store that Mica will accept into the family is based on the segment in which this store will participate. The smallest store format is a Mica Paint Centre at a minimum of 250 square meters nett trading space, a Mica Paint & Hardware minimum of 800 square meters of nett retail trading space (excluding offices) with a 200 square meter yard, a Mica Build is a minimum of 800 square meters of nett retail trading space (excluding offices) under roof and a minimum of 250 square meters of yard space, and a Mega Mica a minimum of 2,500 square meters of nett retail trading space (excluding offices) and 1000 square meter yard.
Based on the initial turnover projections of the store, the member is to also allow an additional 30% of the value of the start-up capital, as working capital. Unencumbered cash of 70% of the start-up cash is required.
