Franchise Week is Almost Upon Us!
While most economic news one comes across these days have a negative slant, members of the franchise fraternity continue to deal with the situation better than most. It would be misleading to say that they remained unaffected by the current downturn but they are coping better, and why shouldn’t they? As the saying goes, there is strength in numbers, and that’s precisely what franchising offers.
Fact is consumers haven’t stopped buying. They are just more careful where and how they spend their money. This means that the cake that represents the market has become a little smaller but by working as a team, franchisors and their franchisees are able to claim a larger slice.
Should you wish to gain access to the exciting world of franchising, be it as a prospective franchisee or franchisor, now is the time to do something about it. During the first week of April, FASA is celebrating Franchise Week; this event offers something for everyone who wants to start a business or expand an existing business under franchise.
From April 1-4, a series of breakfast presentations, workshops and seminars provide information of interest to established and prospective franchisors. The venue is the Sandton Convention Centre. Full details are on the FASA website www.fasa.co.za.
From April 2-4, the annual International Franchise Expo, IFE 2009, takes place. Visitors will have an opportunity to find out about franchise opportunities, financing of franchise ventures and anything else they want to know about franchising. Franchisors, banks and professional firms that specialise in providing advice on franchising will be in attendance. Once again, the venue is the Sandton Convention Centre and the expo will be open from 10h00 to 18h00 on all three days.
You’ll be able to see first hand that the franchise sector continues to thrive, and walk away convinced that now is the best time to start your own business.
Of course, whichfranchise.co.za will be there! You will find us on the stand of our sponsor Absa Franchising and we will be ready to answer any franchise-related questions you may have. Should you be looking for finance, Absa Franchising’s experienced bankers will be on hand to outline existing options.
And there is more!
- While visiting us, you’ll be able to check out the latest listings on our website through the large screen we will have installed.
- If you are not a subscriber to our free monthly electronic newsletter yet, you can register on the spot.
- Should you consider franchising your existing business, you’ll be able to examine the Absa Franchising Toolkit, a complete set of instructions designed to familiarise anyone wishing to expand an existing business through franchising with the steps that lie ahead.
We look forward to meeting with you at the IFE 2009.
