Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose your franchise?

The reason we went for a franchise is simple, we had no experience in the food industry and the franchisor provides a base to work from.Why Stadium, I studied in Bloem and was a regular customer, so I knew that the concept was a good one.

What did you do before taking up a franchise?

I worked for Softline VIP as a payroll and tax consultant.

How did you raise the finance?

Cash and through a business loan

What training and support did you receive initially and ongoing?

All staff was sent to Bloem for 2 weeks training, also my partner had 6 weeks training with the franchise before opening the store.

What is a typical day for you as a franchisee?

It’s a demanding business, you need to make sure you always have stock and make your customers happy.Day consists of running around making sure everything is running smoothly.

What challenges have you faced?

Issues with suppliers not keeping promises and general staff issues.

Has becoming a franchisee changed your life, if so how?

Yes, when you have your own business  you always need to be on call.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of buying their first franchise? 

Still new in it, so have no advice at the moment.

What are your plans for the future? 

Try and have a couple of more stores.
